Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to unite and recommit themselves to hard work following his decisive victory in the party’s internal elections.
Addressing supporters after the announcement of the results, Dr. Bawumia stressed that political success is never achieved without sacrifice. He noted that leadership within the NPP has always been earned through perseverance, discipline, and the willingness to endure difficult challenges rather than through popularity alone.
He praised the party’s long-standing tradition of selecting leaders based on loyalty, competence, and service, describing the outcome of the contest as a reflection of the delegates’ confidence in those values. According to him, the decision made by party delegates must be respected by all members, regardless of individual preferences during the contest.
Dr. Bawumia also appealed for internal cohesion, calling on supporters of all aspirants to put aside past disagreements and work collectively toward a common goal. He emphasized that unity remains the party’s strongest asset as it prepares for the 2024 general elections.
Looking ahead, the Vice President said the NPP must focus on disciplined governance, policy credibility, and effective organization to secure victory at the national level. He maintained that only a united party, driven by shared purpose and commitment, can win the trust of Ghanaians once again.
He concluded by encouraging party members to stand together, noting that the future success of both the NPP and the nation depends on collective effort and unwavering dedication.
