In an interview with Joy FM’s Kwame Dadzie on the Showbiz A-Z program, Smith revealed how her song “Ma Wonsan” played a pivotal role in saving a marriage.


Smith recounted a moving encounter with a listener who expressed deep gratitude for her song. The man credited “Ma Wonsan” with prompting him to reconsider his decision to divorce his wife, ultimately leading to a reconciliation. “Esther, your song ‘Ma Wonsan’ made me rethink divorcing my wife. It brought us back together,” he told her.


Smith, known for her dedication to creating spiritually uplifting music, emphasized that her songs are divinely inspired. She engages in fasting and prayer before recording to ensure her music holds transformative power. Currently in Ghana, Smith is gearing up for two highly anticipated concerts. She will perform at the Bantama Pentecost Church in Kumasi on August 25, 2024, followed by a concert in Accra on August 30, 2024. The events will feature performances from a lineup of notable gospel artists, including Joe Beecham, Lady Prempeh, Morris Babyface, Randy Agyemang, Adom Kiki, and Noble Nketsia, among others.


Smith has an impressive discography with eight albums to her name, including “Gye No Di,” “Onyame Boafo,” and “Onyame Wo Ho.” Her singles, such as “Golgotha” and her latest release “Onyame Banjo,” featuring Morris Babyface, continue to resonate with audiences.
